You spend hours carefully styling and blow-drying your hair only to have it look like a total mess in the morning? We show you how to wake up with hair that looks more textured than terrible in these ingenious ways.
USE A CURL-ENHANCING SERUM
Wash your hair before you sleep and let it air-dry. Once almost dry, apply a curl-enhancing serum on it, scrunch it in and then tie your hair on the top of your head using a scrunchie. You should have pretty, soft waves when you wake up in the morning.
USE CURLERS OR BRAID YOUR HAIR
If you have a bit more time on your hands, then wash your hair. Apply a curl-defining mousse or an anti-frizz product and divide your hair into sections, wrapping each one around a flexi rod or into tiny braids. If you opt for the rods, then use elastic ones only to avoid hurting your scalp when you sleep. Open these up in the morning, spritz with a shine mist and you should be good to go.
TRY PINAPPLING
Your waves might be looking frizzy on account of the cotton pillowcases you use, which sucks out the moisture from your hair. To copy this technique, you need a silk scarf. Wash your hair and apply a leave-in conditioner. Gather up all your hair on the top of your head with a scrunchie and wrap the scarf all around your head. Sleep with this on and in the morning, simply remove scarf and scrunch hair.
